A Caution on Capitalism

The dangers of an infrastructure designed by capitalist and the presumption of guilt

The problem with capitalism is that it rewards malicious cunning and deception.  Basically, the slickest, most supposititious and predatory people tend to rise to power.   These people then project their own behaviors onto the masses be it through the natural human presumption that others will think and behave as we do, or through paranoia of discovery and retribution.  The result of this philosophy is a system that unconsciously presumes that people are guilty until proven innocent while claiming the opposite.  Likewise the conception of a scenario or fear in the mind is equated with truth, and the masses are forced to “disprove” the scenario and ease the minds of those in power.  The danger in this way of thinking is that the mind can run away with itself; its fears projected onto others and thusly people are viewed through the lens of internal bias.  These biases coupled with a lack of self awareness can lead to a person retrofitting events and even evidence to fit the imagined narrative.  This delusion becomes exponentially more dangers when engaged in by a person with power, because that person may and likely will use their power to orchestrate events to prove the narrative true, and thus prove themselves right, even at the cost of the destruction of innocent people and lives.  Furthermore, it supports a system where authority is maintained by appearances, and thus those whom rule must maintain appearances at all times, and subsequently are unable to admit to error, feel entitled to engage in wrong doing as long as they can find an acceptable scapegoat to assuage the masses, and feel attacked and affronted when shown evidence of their wrongdoing.  The acquisition of power, money, and access are tantamount in capitalist society, so any action can be psychologically justified as necessary for survival as long as one’s image is maintained and their machinations are successful.   Naturally this creates an environment of masked anarchy; a society that divides and preys upon its own citizens, and any members that do not submit to group think, the group ideal of acceptable behavior and  standards of beauty, group definition of identity, requires more than or a different version of care than society has deemed its duty, or any other designed to evaluate, quantify, commoditize, and otherwise control the population become social pariah, and thus it is justified to use any means to stifle, silence and prey upon those individuals.  It is a society where the strong prey on the weak instead of the strong protecting the weak, thusly issues and problems are rarely truly solved; it is a society where the symptoms are masked to maintain the image of health and passed down the pecking order to either a person who is unable to avoid “being on the hook” and thus must solve the problem or take the role of scapegoat with their class status/image being blamed in the event of failure, or a person that is innocent of the game being played and unknowingly walks into the situation and finds themselves “set up” to take accountability (i.e. sacrifice a virgin) and subsequently must fix the problem or be blamed and scapegoated with their inexperience cited as the reason for the mistake.  In this circumstance the true culprits are left unaffected by their actions and therefore learn at the expense of others (i.e. the scapegoat) which, coupled with cognitive dissonance leads one to convince oneself that the scapegoat is indeed truly guilty, allowing one to psychologically separate oneself from any accountability and thus continue to act with impunity in ways that directly negatively affect others while believing that you are an upstanding member of society.  Ultimately, the result is a hierarchical society that is not based on virtue or values, but is based on ability to psychologically detach from acts of cruelty and exploitation.  This mentality permeates throughout the society and with the members of the uppermost and lowermost societal rungs of society exhibiting extreme psychopathy and narcissism as a means of survival; the uppermost doing so to remain in their loft positions of power and prestige; the lowermost doing so as a result of the privations and abuses that they suffer, the main difference being the image that the society has of either class.  The remaining social rungs are group together in a controllable, easily influenced, largely ignorant mass of indifferent, unaffected people.  And thus, the machine marches forward at the expense of its own people.
